10 Facts about me:

1. I'm scared of the dentist, but the thought of losing my teeth is greater than the fear of the dentist.  I probably go to the dentist way too much for the littlest things because I am terrified I will lose teeth.  My dentist and the staff is aware of my fear, so they usually gas me so I don't care what they do to me. 
   
2. I love York Peppermint Patties.
   
3. I am a child of the 80s, but I love, love, love hippy stuff.  I collect anything smiley faces.  I happened to be in a Clare's one day (which was a tad bit embarrassing at my age) at I came across the following wallet and I have been in love ever since.  It's going to break my heart when it finally falls into pieces.  
   
   
   

   
   

  4. I am currently reading the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind.

  5. I can recite the military call letters from memory. I was not in the service, but my previous job required us to verify everything using military call letters. 

  6. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and its also when I get the most homesick.  I do miss my grandmother's banana pudding, my dad's stuffing, and my other grandmother's sour cream pound cake.

  7. I am currently hooked on Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, and The Big Bang Theory.

  8. I love Strawberry and Creme Frappes with soy from Starbucks and I wish I had one now.  If you click on the link and go to the webpage, you get this message.  In case you didn't know, it translates to too damn many and you should not drink it! Ha!

  9. The Glory of Love by Peter Cetera is my favorite song. I've heard that Peter Cetera lives somewhere here in Utah and has concerts quite often.  I have lived here almost three years and I have yet to hear of one. You can believe as soon as he performs, I will be there, even if I have to go by myself. 

10. When I was a young girl, I made a list of three things I thought a man had to do before I would marry him.  They were (1) ask my dad's permission (I am from the south so this is considered polite manners), (2) had to get down on one knee and propose, and (3) had to know what my favorite song was and do something with it like dedicate it to me on the radio, sing it to me, etc.  And no, my husband didn't do any of them.  To his credit, living in Utah and my dad living in Alabama did make that one a bit difficult.

1. What is your current beauty obsession?

I usually don't wear any makeup unless its a special occasion or I am having my picture taken. I have sensitive skin and I have yet to find a foundation that doesn't leave me looking like a pepperoni pizza the next day.  It is also very dry here in Utah, so my face tends to peel a lot and it doesn't make make-up look very good. I keep getting told I will get used to it, but I haven't yet. 

I do insist that my eyebrows are waxed and shaped very frequently.

2. What is the ONE item you wish you owned?

A passport filled with stamps from all the cool places I have been (you know, if I had a passport and had been to all those places).

3. What is your favorite topic to read about?

Guessing this means non-fiction, so I will say science and history. I'm one of those people.

4. What inspired you to become a blogger?

My best friend telling me I need to blog.

5. What nail polish are you wearing now?

...none...

1. I am hooked on True Blood, even though I think its TERRIBLE!  Its like a train wreck, I just can't turn away.

2. My favorite band is Chicago.

3. I just asked my kid to help me fill out this list and to give me a fact.  He said, "I dunno know."  So, I answered, "But you are my kid, you are supposed to know things about your own mother."  He answers, "I don't know anything about you!"   Sigh.

4. I play a Druid in World of Warcraft.

5. I once played the same family in Sims 3 for so long, that I was on the 7th generation of my original Sim. Then my game corrupted and I lost everything.  I was heartbroken. 

6. I love The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I have read all the books and my ringtone is So Long, And Thanks for All the Fish (the theme song from the Hollywood version of the movie).

 

7. I hate snow.

1.  My favorite color is blue.

2.  I wear a size 10 shoe.

5.  I can sound just like the Geico pothole. In fact, one of my best friends recorded me doing the voice and that is now my ring tone on her phone.

I got an award!

I am very happy to announce that Tricia at Today with the Tennerys awarded me with a Liebster award!

Eleven Facts about Me:

1. I play World of Warcraft.
2. I am a certified Pharmacy Technician.
3. I sold my home so I could move to FL and attend film school.  Prior to this, I have never lived out of the state of AL and had never been more than 20 miles from my family.  I knew no one in FL.
4. After deciding I did not want to live in FL anymore, I packed up everything that would fit into my 1988 Toyota Camry (including my son, two turtles, and two cats) and drove half way across the country to Utah.  If it did not fit into my car, it did not go with us.  I did not tell anyone what I was doing.  I ended up having to call my best friend to help me with directions so I told her, but she was the only one who knew where I was.  I did not call my family until I got to Utah and let them know what I had done.  I knew they would try to talk to me out of it and I did not want to be talked out it. 
5. I moved to Utah only knowing three people, with no job, and the only money I had in my pocket was from my income tax refund.  We (my son, two cats, and two turtles-which I had to sneak in) ended up staying at one of those pay by the week hotels until I found us a place to live.
6. It was my intention when I moved to Utah not to date. I just wanted to make friends, hang out, have fun.  Well, that did not happen.  Within two months of moving to Utah, I met my husband.
7. My son and I are 17 years apart.  Yes, I was a teenager mother.
8. I have an associate’s degree in General Education.
9. My two favorite pictures of me are (1) when I graduated high school (with an advanced diploma-not trying to brag about it, it’s just an accomplishment I am very proud of) my Grandmother took a picture of me in  my cap gown with then one year Jared on my right hip and my diploma in my other hand and (2) my Dad took a picture of me when I graduated college in my cap and gown with six year old Jared one side of me and my diploma in the opposite hand.
10. As long as everything says on track, I should have my bachelor’s degree by next summer (2013).  I hope to have a picture made with me in my cap and gown, fifteen year old Jared one side, my husband on the other, and me holding my diploma.  This will become my third favorite picture.
11.  And for my last and final fact, it was my best friend got me hooked on blogging.  She has been blogging for years and I never gave it much thought.  I love to write so why I sneered my nose at it is beyond me.  But, I’m hooked, and I tell her often that she created a monster.

My Eleven Questions:

  1. Where is your DREAM vacation? I would love to visit the mysterious wonders of the world like Easter Island, Stonehenge, and The Great Pyramid.

  2. Are you close to your parents? We are very close.  Living halfway across the US from each other has been very tough. 

  3. Have you lost anyone close to you? I have been lucky enough that I have lost anyone close to me by death, but I have lost friendships over the years due to moving and simply drifting apart.  You know you have a true friend when, even after life happens and you drift apart, you can easily pick right up where you left off and you would never know there was ever a break.

  4. Favorite color? Light blue

  5. Favorite flower? White rose

  6. Favorite song? Glory of Love by Peter Cetera

  7. Favorite season? Fall

  8. Favorite sport? I don’t really follow sports.  I will watch it with friends and family, but, honesty I usually have no idea what’s going on.  I was at a football game once with my best friend and I was so bored and ready for it to end that I asked her, “What inning are we in?” So, yeah, that should answer the question about sports.

  9. Olympics? I watched a few games, mainly because there was nothing else on.  My face tends to be in front of computer, so TV is usually background noise.

10. Where is your DREAM place to live? Somewhere it does not snow, does not get below 70 and does not get hotter than about 80, and has no humidity. Oh! And no spiders.  If you know of this place, please let me know.

11. Do you blog hop? Just beginning to get started.
