FANtastic Friday: L R Barret-Durham and E G Glover
These are my own opinions and I was not compensated in any way for
this post. I am simply a huge fan of these products and wanted to share
it with everyone.
Sorry to keep harping on the terrible cancer word, but unfortunately its pretty much my life right now. Because of the cancer I spend about two weeks of every month in the hospital for various treatments and things. While I have been in the hospital, I have been kept company by my Kindle app and this:
"Roger Grayson and Lisa Barnet were less than a week away from beginning their life together, when a fatal car accident rips Lisa away from her loving fiance'.
Nearly a year later, Roger's best friend, Gene, tries to help put the pieces of his life back together. When Gene takes Roger to an ancient stone circle called Mystery Hill, his goal was simply to get him out of the house. But when the proprietor of the circle starts talking nonsense about using Mystery Hill to travel through time, Gene tries to laugh it off, and get Roger out of there as fast as he can.
Now, Roger has left his life and a note behind. He's going to use the stones to go back to the year before... to save Lisa's life." Copied from Amazon.com
A Twist in Time is a solo project by indie author E.G. Glover. He co-authors several other series with fellow indie author L R Barrett. I strongly recommend giving this title or any title of theirs a try. I highly support indie authors and both writers reside in my home area.
As soon as I finish up this title, I have the Fear series waiting on me (a third book is in the works).
"Teenagers Saxton Lyall and Licah Daciana are tossed into a web of nightmaric proportions when a simple glance across a coffee shop turns their world upside down. When the mark of an ancient curse burns into their skin, Licah's superstitious Romanian mother ships her off to Virginia without an explanation.
Now, it's nineteen years later and Licah has returned to Parker's Ridge for a little rest and relaxation to help cure her writer's block. Little does she know that Saxton is near and things are about to get horrifically interesting.
Two People.
One Curse.
But this time, no one is running." - Taken from LR Barett-Durham and EG Glover website
What I love and was very impressed with Glover and Barret-Durham is that if you purchase the books directly from their website, they will personalize and autograph your book (and as of this publishing, FREE shipping in the US).
In addition to writing, they are also very talented stain glass makers. See pictures of all pieces here.
L R Barrett illustrates the cover art for the books as well as merchandise for sale from the books.
All books are available on the Nook and Kindle.

"Ugly" Jewelry #5 Giveaway Plus Linky!
I am VERY happy to announce that my "Ugly" Jewelry Giveaway has returned!! Thank you so much for your patience while I had to put these on hold for a bit. I am so happy to be able to start this giveaway back up!
Please keep in mind that there are times I have to go into the hospital for a few days without notice. If I happen to be in the hospital when the contest ends, please be understanding and patient with me if I am a little delayed in mailing out the necklace.
Everyone's opinion of "ugly" is different so I use the term very loosely when describing each piece.
Make sure to leave a comment: Is it ugly or not ugly? When the giveaway is over, I will post a final tally!

A Few More Updates
As I am now in remission and ready for a bone marrow transplant, I have been working on getting things in order and in place so when a donor is found, all of the paperwork will be done.
The main issue is that my insurance is requiring me to go a specific hospital to have the procedure (even though the hospital I have been getting treatment from thus far is a bone marrow transplant hospital). The hospital they are requiring me to go to is in Arizona and is about a 12 hour drive from home and I can expect to be there about five months.
I am less than thrilled with the idea of being 12 hours from home for five months, but I have to do what the insurance tells me to do. I have already huffed and puffed and tried to protest, but I got no where fast. The stress of huffing and puffing was more than I could handle and I just gave in and said I would do whatever they wanted to me to.
As of right now, I will continue to have chemo treatments every 14-21 days until a bone marrow donor is found and then I can start preparing for the transplant.

UGLee Pen Review and GIVEAWAY!!
I was given the chance to review a UGLee Pen. The UGLee Pen was designed by Dr.James Lee who wanted a truly economical pen.
a Rafflecopter giveaway I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Dr. Lee's Bio:
Dr. Lee received his BS in Molecular Biophysics and
Biochemistry from Yale University and his MD from Stanford University
School of Medicine. Dr. Lee has done his share of writing throughout his
academic and professional life. All of the writing required by medical
school and physician training took its toll. After trying just about
every pen and failing to find a truly comfortable one, Dr. Lee was
determined to create his own. Known to even fire his own clay pens, Dr.
Lee has experimented with just about every combination of shape, texture, material, and ink mixtures in search of the optimum combination for the "Perfect Pen." -taken from UGLeepen.com
The UGLee Pen is good for everyone who writes (even just a grocery list), and is especially helpful to people who experience pain and discomfort when writing, for example those with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.,. It's also the best writing utensil for children who are learning to write and are developing fine motor skills, as well as helpful for special-needs children who find holding a pen or pencil properly difficult. And for high-school and college students who have to take copious notes, this pen helps keep hands and fingers from cramping.
The UGLee Pen Company was nice enough to provide me with three pens to review. I gave one to my husband to take to work, one to my teenage son for school, and I kept the third.
My husband says he uses his all night. He does a lot of writing and he said the design of the pen made it easier to hold onto all night.
My son tells me he uses his to write all of his notes and he has managed to hold on to this pen longer than any other pen I have ever given him, so that surely means something!
Because the body of the pen has the gel coating, it makes finding this pen easy in my purse. I can stick my hand into my purse and feel around for the gel and pull the pen right out. May sound like a silly little detail, but it comes in handy when things migrate to the bottomless pit of a purse!

THANK YOU!
Thank you everyone for the very kind words. I am sorry I have not
replied sooner and I promise you I have read every one of them. You can not imagine how much your encouragement has meant to me. I reread them often when I get a little "oomph" to get motivated or are feeling very discouraged.
Thank you for sharing your stories and your thoughts of motivation. It helps so much to remember that this is only a small bump in the road of my life and I am not the only who has battled (and survived).
Thank you everyone for hanging around and reading my little blog and for understanding why my jewelry giveaway had to be put on hold for a bit. I promise its coming back just as soon I feel I am able to do so.
I will keep updating and posting and everyone keep leaving me motivation!

Update
I am very happy to announce that I get to mark off something on my bucket list.
Drum roll please....
I am in remission!!!
This also means that as soon as a bone marrow donor is found, I can start the procedures for my transplant.
